You want to check your cats’ health levels regularly so you can stay on top of any potential ailments. It’s easy for cats to get sick. Outdoor cats often come in contact with other neighborhood animals who may have communicable diseases. Indoor cats may find and eat something they shouldn’t. There are many ways that your cats can become ill. It’s your job to keep your animals healthy.

Healthy kittens have a healthy look about them. That’s the main difference between healthy cats and unhealthy ones. And as you get to know your pet better, you’ll learn what it looks like when it’s healthy and what it looks like when it’s weak. A healthy cat has shiny fur, a healthy weight, purrs a lot, is playful, has a lot of energy, bright eyes, healthy-looking stools, and is alert.

Unhealthy cats have many of the same symptoms of illnesses that humans have. It’s your job to spot these signs. Sick cats will have diarrhea, be restless and tired, experience vomiting and a lack of appetite. When your cat is sick, you may also notice a dull tone to its fur and eyes, runny nose, and a lot of sneezing and scratching. Your cat may also cry in pain. If any of these things occur in your pet, you’ll want to find out what’s wrong.

If your cat appears sick, you’ll want to inspect a little further to find out what’s wrong. If your cat has eaten something it shouldn’t have, it will vomit two or three times. You want to let it vomit to try and bring up whatever it swallowed. If vomiting doesn’t do the trick, you’ll want to consult your vet. Your cat may have swallowed something that can be potentially dangerous and may need to have it surgically removed from its system.

If you can’t figure out what’s wrong with your cat, you’ll certainly want to have it checked out professionally after a day or so. Some conditions can be quite dangerous and deadly to cats. You will want to have your vet inspect your cat thoroughly and determine what is wrong with your pet, so it can be healthy again soon.
